California-based Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a commercial real estate firm, arranged the sale of the South Heights Retail Center, a 31,068-square-foot shopping center situated on 95,245 square feet of land in Houston Heights at 2802 White Oak Drive.
The seller, an entity with Re:Vive Development, and the buyer, an out-of-state private investor, were not named in the release. The property was a finalist in theUrban Land Institute's local Development of Distinction Awards this past year.In 2014, City Oven closed its location at the shopping center after being open for less than a year. The pub replaced D’Amico’s Italian Market Café which closed in 2013.A few months after City Oven shut its doors, Barnaby's Cafe opened in the pub's old location as the third tenant in about two years. Barnaby’s still operates at the shopping center along other tenants including Christian’s Tailgate, Tacos A Go-Go, Rita’s Italian Ice and Pho Binh Noodle and Grill.The property is in one of the few areas in the Heights where businesses can serve alcohol, according to the release.
