Houston-based medical co. to relocate HQ to 'trendy, modern facility'

A Houston-based medical co. will relocate its Houston headquarters and more than triple its Bayou City footprint.

Houston-based Sagis Diagnostics, a diagnostic pathology lab, will relocate its headquarters to 4131 Directors Row in February, according to city of Houston building permits and Micah Simecek of Houston's Studio Red Architects. Sagis currently occupies between 3,000 and 4,000 square feet at 5225 Katy Freeway, Simecek said, and will occupy roughly 12,000 square feet in its new space.

"They're a relatively young company," Simecek said. "We’re doing a trendy, modern facility for them and we’re trying to design some nice collaborative environments."

Sagis confirmed the move but didn't comment further. Blake Warren and Harry Kutner with the Houston office of Dallas-based Stream Realty Partners markets 4131 Directors Row. Brokerage information for Sagis Diagnostics wasn't immediately available. A building permit filed with the city of Houston indicated the cost of buildout for Sagis' new space as being $1 million.

As Houston’s commercial real estate sectors, such as office and multifamily, continue to suffer from the impact of low oil prices, health care projects are making up the lion’s share of development activity. As of August, almost $5 billion in health care-related projects are underway in the greater Houston area
